The New Plant Awards are the beating heart of the National Plant Show, showcasing the best of the best in new plant introductions. The place to find the next best-selling plant for garden centres.

After winning the prestigious title of Plant of the Year 2023 at RHS Chelsea Flowershow this year, Agapanthus BlackJack by De Wet Plant breeders in South Africa has won yet another award: BlackJack has been voted Best New Plant in the category Perennials.

Agapanthus BlackJack stands out with its inky black flower buds and intense dark purple flowers. The dense inflorescence and many flower heads make this compact Agapanthus surprise gardeners worldwide with its spectacular garden performance and extra-long flowering period. A vigorous plant that looks striking in borders and containers throughout the gardening season.

What an achievement! Hats off, and big congratulations to all involved!
