Taxus baccata 'Goldstrike' PBR EU 66227

Conifers

Description

Ready for striking colours and incredible garden performance? Good: we’re proud to introduce the latest innovation in the Taxus baccata assortment: Goldstrike. This strong, healthy Taxus baccata shows the most intense colours throughout the year. Starting with golden-yellow foliage in spring and orange hues throughout summer, only to return to its intense yellow-colours in autumn.

Taxus Goldstrike is slightly variegated and decorated with a green stripe in the middle of the leaves. Discovered in the Netherlands, breeder Lucassen noticed how it didn’t burn in the sun during a hot summer. But that’s not all that was noticed: its well-branched habit and fast, vigorous growth made Goldstrike truly stand out. This well-branched habit makes it a low-maintenance landscaping and hedging plant that doesn’t need any pruning.

How to care for Taxus Goldstrike:
Even though Goldstrike flowers, it doesn’t produce any berries. Goldstrike has an upright, dense habit and will grow up to 150 cm high and 100 cm wide. It thrives in full sun or partial shade and prefers hummus-rich, moist soil. Taxus baccata Goldstrike is hardy to -20 ºC.
