Prunus laurocerasus Elly® ('VERSTRA'PBR) EU 53089

Heesters

Description

Prunus Elly® is a beautiful evergreen shrub. It is a slender upgoing hedge plant that grows naturally compact and bushy. Therefore, Elly® needs less pruning (once a year) to form a hedge, which is less than with the broad growing varieties. So Elly® is very suitable for a hedge, but because of the slender, narrow upright growth also ideal as solitary on balcony or terrace.

Elly® grows up to approx. 4 m high and 80 cm wide. Pruning in the spring or summer. Elly® gives white flowers in spring and is hardy to -25 ºC. This is more hardy than for example Prunus laurocerasus 'Caucasica'. Plant Elly® in the sun or partial shade in a moist, fertile and well-drained soil.

Key Points

  1. Slender, straight upgoing habit
  2. Dark green foliage
