Description
Sedum Sunsparkler® ‘Blue Elf’ is the world’s first Sedum x Orostachys-hybrid. It is a crossing between two species, which makes it a real breakthrough in plant breeding. ‘Blue Elf’ was bred by Chris Hansen of Garden Solutions in the USA. It combined the best of both parents.
Its steel-blue rosettes and numerous lateral branches resemble the Orostachys genus. The tight clusters of dark pink flowers come from the Sedum genus. And as a bonus, ‘Blue Elf’ has light fragrant flowers! ‘Blue Elf’ grows to 8 cm tall and 30 cm wide. Its compact habit makes ‘Blue Elf’ perfect in rock gardens, as groundcover or as solitary on terraces and balconies.
How to care for Sedum Sunsparkler® 'Blue Elf':
'Blue Elf' thrives in sandy, well-drained soil in full sun. It can resist heat and cold temperatures to -25 °C. ‘Blue Elf’ attracts bees and butterflies.
