The autumn edition of PLANTARIUM|GROEN-Direkt 2025 began on a festive note for Plantipp BV. At the novelty inspection organised by the Royal Boskoop Horticultural Society (KVBC), several cultivars managed by Plantipp received awards. Out of 49 submitted plants, 43 were judged, with no fewer than 35 novelties earning medals: three gold, fourteen silver, and eighteen bronze.
The top honour went to Buddleja davidii 'Botex 009' (Little Rockstars Red). This eye-catching cultivar not only won a Gold KVBC Medal but also received the Green Retail Award Best Novelty. The jury praised its compact growth, profuse flowering, and intense dark red blooms – qualities that make Little Rockstars Red a valuable addition to the range. The certificate was awarded to submitter Florensis, breeder Botanic Experience, and royalty management agency Plantipp.
Molinia caerula 'Banshee', submitted by Jos Cammeraat Potcultuur from Boskoop, also earned a Gold Medal. The jury described it as a variety with, "graceful and airy flower spikes that rise above the green stems. The dark purple colour of the spikes is distinctive."
The third Gold Medal was awarded to Pennisetum advena 'TUS022' (TINY TAILS), submitted by Hoogeveen Plants B.V. from Hazerswoude-Dorp and F.N. Kempen vof from Mijdrecht. According to the jury, it is, "A low-growing, compact cultivar with dark red foliage and distinctive, large, fluffy flower clusters. Very floriferous and uniform."
Alongside these gold-winning novelties, more Plantipp-managed cultivars were recognised:
