Morus rotunbiloba Charlotte Russe (‘Matsunaga’PBR) will this year be introduced at the Chelsea Flower Show by Suttons Seeds. The name Charlotte Russe will be used exclusively by Suttons Seeds and refers to the British Royal Family as this new variety will be planted in all royal gardens of Great Britain. Morus Charlotte Russe is a unique dwarf variety of the Mulberry that fruits at a young age. Above that, Charlotte Russe carries fruit on young as well as old wood. A high fruit production that can be used for delicious jams, pies and other sweet treats. Not only the amount of fruit but also the compact habit distinguish Charlotte Russe from other cultivars. This fruit tree grows compact to a height of about 75 cm and a width of 35 cm. This makes Charlotte Russe also an ideal fruit tree for in a nice pot for on the terrace. Charlotte Russe is developed by breeder veredelaar Hajime Matsunaga from Japan and is managed in Europe by Plantipp.
