Description

Clematis Sparkler is a stunning variety with semi-double white flowers with creamy stripes and eye-catching red stamens. This double-flowered Clematis is a wonderful hybrid from Barry Fretwell that shows off its flowers in spring and steals the show with a single-flowered repeat by the end of summer. Sparkler boasts blooms early in the year and creates an extra-long season of interest with its rebloom. A delight to have in any landscape.

The early-blooming, semi-double flowers of Clematis Sparkler first appear in May and June, showing off their striking red stamens. This strong, upright climbing plant can flower on old and new wood, making it suitable for a light prune in early spring. This upright climber makes for a stunning garden plant and will add a spectacle of flowers on patio’s, terraces and borders and will gladly cover walls and pergola’s with its stunning double flowers.

Clematis Sparkler is a climbing plant and will grow best in well-drained soil in full sun. Provide with trellis when planted in containers. Pruning can be done lightly in early spring, other than that Sparkler hardly requires any maintenance. Clematis Sparkler is hardy up to -15 ºC.
