From Essen to London, 2025 has been a standout year for Plantipp varieties, earning top honours across Europe’s leading horticultural shows.

Triumphs at IPM Essen and the RHS Chelsea Flower Show
At IPM Essen, Lewisia Sunset Glow (‘Marianne’) captured the public’s imagination, winning the IPM Neuheit 2025 Audience Award, while Hydrangea paniculata Groundbreaker® Blush (‘LC NO21’ PBR) took home the prestigious Show Your Colours Award. Musa sikkimensis Ever Red (‘Lou 1’ PBR), Cornus kousa Flower Tower (‘ZuilB1’ PBR), and Hibiscus syriacus Flower Tower Ruby (‘Gandini van Aart Ruby’ PBR) also earned top distinctions in their categories.

At the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, Philadelphus Petite Perfume Pink (‘P1’ PBR) was crowned Plant of the Year 2025, with Hosta ‘Silly String’ PBR taking second place, and later adding gold at the HTA Awards alongside Clematis Elpis (‘EviGsy154’ PBR) and Escallonia laevis Pink Lemon (‘Elst35’).

Consistent wins at Plantarium|Groen-Direkt
Across Plantarium|Groen-Direkt, success came in both spring and autumn editions, with standout performances from Buddleja davidii Little Rockstars® Red (‘Botex 009’ PBR), Molinia caerulea ‘Banshee’ PBR, and Pennisetum advena Tiny Tails (‘TUS022’ PBR) — each taking gold. The innovative Buddleja davidii Little Rockstars® also received Best Market Innovation.

HTA, Four Oaks, the Glazen Tulp and more
Further recognition followed at GrootGroenPlus, where Osmanthus heterophyllus Perfume Party (‘PNOS01’ PBR) and Phillyrea angustifolia Grand Prix (‘HUGP16’ PBR) achieved gold in the Green Grand Prix 2025.

Recognition beyond borders
The year concluded with Miscanthus sinensis ‘Lady in Red’ PBR winning at Four Oaks, and Philadelphus Petite Perfume Pink being named Best Plant at Green Italy Show Parma. 2025 marked a record year for creativity, collaboration, and quality across the Plantipp network.

Every award begins with a breeder’s vision. The success of 2025 reflects the passion, patience, and innovation of the breeders who dedicate years to developing something truly new. From the first cross to the final selection, their creativity shapes the varieties that capture attention around the world. At Plantipp, we are proud to stand beside them — helping turn breakthrough ideas into recognised successes. These awards are as much theirs as ours, a celebration of shared commitment to bringing distinctive, high-performing plants to market.

With more than 30 international wins across every major event, 2025 stands as one of Plantipp’s most successful years to date. A strong foundation for the breakthroughs still to come.
