Sorghastrum ‘JS Michelito’ is a striking ornamental grass that combines beautiful foliage colours with a compact, sturdy growth habit. The metallic blue leaves create an elegant display throughout the growing season before transforming into warm orange-red shades in autumn, bringing vibrant seasonal colour to the garden. From late summer onwards, decorative dark red-brown flower spikes emerge, highlighted by contrasting yellow stamens.

Compared with similar varieties, ‘JS Michelito’ stands out with its more compact habit, stronger stems, darker flower spikes and richer autumn colour. Thanks to its neat growth and drought tolerance, it is perfectly suited for borders, prairie gardens, mass plantings, low-maintenance gardens and larger naturalistic planting schemes.

How to care for Sorghastrum ‘JS Michelito’:
‘JS Michelito’ grows to approximately 150 cm in flower and about 100 cm in foliage. It thrives in full sun and prefers dry to average, well-drained soil. Hardy to approximately -20 °C.
