The softer spines, also inherited from Manfreda, make Mad about Mangave® easy to handle. The Mad about Mangave® collection offers a wide range of varieties with fascinating shapes and eye-catching colours.

Mad about Mangave® varieties are fast growers. Once they have reached the desired size, water sparingly. Mangaves thrive in a sunny spot, where their vibrant colours and distinctive leaf patterns develop to their fullest. Mad about Mangave® looks stunning as a specimen plant in a pot or container and is also perfect for mixed succulent arrangements. Plant Mad about Mangave® in well-drained soil. Ideal for patios, balconies, or as a houseplant. Hardy down to -5 °C, it is best to bring the plant indoors during the winter months, allowing you to continue enjoying it inside as well.

With very dark green to dark purple, nearly black leaves, is ‘Night Owl’ the darkest Mangave so far. It has a dense rosette and broad leaves with wavy edges and soft spines. ‘Night Owl’ has a very architectural, exotic look and grows up to about 20 cm tall and 45 cm wide.
